We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join our clients plant and fleet maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and general plant machinery to ensure optimal safety and operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as hands-on experience with various tools and equipment.DutiesConduct comprehensive inspections of HGVs to identify faults and areas requiring repair or maintenancePerform repairs on vehicle components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systemsUse hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out maintenance tasks efficientlyRepair or replace faulty parts using assembly techniques and equipment repair skillsMaintain detailed records of work carried out in accordance with company standardsAssist with the installation of specialised equipment such as excavators or forklifts when requiredEnsure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standardsRequirementsProven experience as an HGV Technician or Plant Mechanic in a similar maintenance roleStrong mechanical knowledge relevant to HGV vehiclesExperience working with heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts is advantageousAbility to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair proceduresExcellent problem-solving skills with attention to detailGood communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customersRelevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent are preferred but not essential if complemented by substantial hands-on experienceThis is a long term temp to perm positionPlease click to apply and send us your CV today.Jobstore is an equal opportunities employer and we value diversity.JBRP1_UKTJ
