Job Description

Maintenance Engineer

Location: Leek, England

Contract: 6 Months

Pay Rate: £35 per hour (Inside IR35 Umbrella)

Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading organisation on a 6-month contract based in Leek. This is a day-based role supporting maintenance activities within a highly regulated industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on plant equipment Perform pipefitting and mechanical maintenance tasks Conduct basic electrical fault-finding and diagnostics Undertake function testing and signal checking Execute flange repairs and maintenance Isolate and maintain pumps and agitators safely Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety and compliance standards Support continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives

Required Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial environment Strong background in pipework, pumps, vessels, and flanges Basic electrical fault-finding capability Experience with equipment isolation procedures (LOTO) Hands-on experience within one or more of the following industries: Chemical / Petrochemical Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences FMCG / Manufacturing Oil & Gas / Refinery Power / Waste-to-Energy / Steel

Candidate Profile

Strong practical, hands-on engineering skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Good understanding of health & safety procedures Flexible and adaptable to site requirements
