Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Liverpool Street £48,000 – £52,000

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading, well-established building services provider on a prestigious static commercial site near Liverpool Street. This is a Monday to Friday, days-based role (8am – 5pm), offering excellent long-term stability, career progression, and ongoing technical development.

Our client is highly regarded within the building services industry and is known for investing in their engineers through structured training, clear progression routes, and exposure to high-end commercial environments. The successful engineer will be responsible for delivering a high standard of mechanical maintenance, ensuring plant reliability, compliance, and client satisfaction at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical maintenance across all site plant and systems Maintain and fault-find on equipment including: AHUs, FCUs, VAVs Pumps, motors, belts, bearings and seals Generators (on/off load testing) Sprinkler systems and water treatment plant Associated pipework and mechanical services

Perform plant shutdowns, isolation safely and in line with site procedures Ensure all works are completed in compliance with statutory regulations, site standards, and best practice Monitor plant performance and proactively identify improvement or lifecycle replacement opportunities Manage and supervise specialist subcontractors where required Complete all relevant documentation including logbooks, RAMS, permits to work, and compliance reports Raise, update, and close tasks via PDA / CAFM systems Maintain excellent communication with the on-site management team and end client Requirements

Fully qualified in Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds / NVQ / EAL or equivalent) Minimum 3 years' experience working in a commercial building maintenance environment Apprentice-trained background – desirable Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Good understanding of health & safety, compliance, and safe systems of work A proactive, professional attitude with strong attention to detail Salary & Benefits
