The Job Mission
We’re welcoming Mechanical Engineers from regulated industries like oil & gas, defence, water, renewables, aerospace, and more — to bring their skills into the UK’s most advanced energy infrastructure project: Hinkley Point C. Whether your background is in design, installation, commissioning or QA, you’ll find familiarity in our systems, challenges, and pace.
Your future role may include:
⚡️ Developing and reviewing mechanical specifications for a wide range of site equipment
⚡️ Supporting the surveillance, installation or commissioning of mechanical systems
⚡️ Resolving multidisciplinary interface issues between civil, mechanical and electrical scopes
⚡️ Collaborating with suppliers to ensure delivery meets quality and compliance standards
⚡️ Participating in site-based engineering activities aligned with safety and delivery goals
⚡️ Contributing to equipment integration, from valves and tanks to rotating machinery
⚡️ Supporting process improvements and embedding engineering assurance
⚡️ Engaging in cross-discipline meetings to progress technical delivery
Essential Skills:
Background in mechanical engineering (degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience)
Experience in regulated sectors
Knowledge of mechanical equipment used in infrastructure or industrial environments
Ability to understand or work with technical drawings, specifications, or site procedures
Willingness to work hybrid with regular presence on-site at Hinkley Point C (Bridgwater)
Desired Skills:
✔️ Supplier-facing experience or contract surveillance involvement
✔️ Experience in mechanical installation, commissioning
✔️ Familiarity with technical risk, compliance or system handover
✔️ Experience in fluid systems, rotating equipment, tanks, valves or pressure systems
✔️ Ability to thrive in a dynamic site-based delivery environment
