The Role The Mechanical Engineer will work with customers to understand requirements, and will design lightweight, robust, low-cost, stowage-efficient mechanisms, to support structures deployment and operations in Space, undertaking all aspects of mechanical engineering surrounding the design, development and production, but with a focus on structural analysis. What do I need? A good understanding of structural and/or thermal analysis, coupled with FE modelling Experience with software packages for structural analysis, thermal analysis and mathematical modelling, such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, ADAMS, Matlab, etc. Familiarity with at least one of gears, motors and mechanisms Experience within a highly-regulated industry such as Space or Aerospace
