Your responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer
Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and keep production running efficiently
Diagnose faults quickly across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and implement effective repairs
Support continuous improvement initiatives across production lines and machinery
Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules
Communicate downtime issues clearly and ensure smooth shift handovers
Carry out installation work and maintain high workshop standards
What we’re looking for in a Mechanical Engineer
Qualified Mechanical Engineer (City & Guilds or equivalent) or time-served background
Previous experience in fault finding, repair and maintenance of production machinery
Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience using welding equipment (MIG, TIG or arc)
Solid understanding of health and safety within an engineering environment
Working hours: 12-hour continental shift pattern – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off
