Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - Offshore Projects

Overview An engineering organisation delivering complex offshore energy projects is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale offshore production systems, supporting the design and integration of critical mechanical equipment within a multidisciplinary environment.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers and contributing to the delivery of safe, compliant and efficient engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Support the design and development of mechanical equipment packages, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and pressure systems Prepare and review technical documentation such as datasheets, specifications and engineering drawings Assist with vendor selection, technical bid evaluations and supplier documentation reviews Participate in 3D model reviews and support coordination across engineering disciplines Ensure designs align with relevant industry standards and project requirements Contribute to design verification, testing and acceptance activities Liaise with procurement, fabrication and project teams to resolve technical queries Support integration of mechanical systems across modules and interconnected structures Assist with project execution activities including documentation tracking, reporting and scheduling support Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience in mechanical design engineering within energy, offshore or industrial projects Understanding of mechanical equipment packages and layout design principles Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and practices Experience using 3D design tools such as AutoCAD or similar platforms Strong communication and technical documentation skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment Desirable

Exposure to detailed design or EPC project environments Experience supporting offshore or complex infrastructure projects
