Full-time | Monday-Friday (early finish on Fridays)An established and growing engineering organisation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support increasing demand and a high level of machine customisation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team working on innovative machinery projects from concept through to delivery.The RoleYou will be responsible for the mechanical design of new machinery, as well as retrofits and upgrades to existing equipment. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, tailored engineering solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorksProduce sales layout drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCADDesign machinery in line with customer specifications and requirementsGenerate mechanical Bills of Materials (BOMs)Produce detailed 2D drawings (assemblies, parts, fabrication)Develop pneumatic schematicsCollaborate with internal design teams to optimise solutionsIdentify and contribute to product improvementsCreate machine manuals and technical documentationProvide technical support during machine build and assemblyComplete documentation such as test plans and validation recordsWork closely with internal teams to resolve design and build challengesAbout YouEssential:Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (e.g. BTEC, HNC or equivalent)Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design, ideally within machinery or automationProficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilityConfident using Microsoft Office toolsEffective team player with strong communication skillsDesirable:Degree in Mechanical EngineeringChartered status or working towards itExperience building or commissioning machineryKnowledge of production line validation and documentationExperience using AutoCAD for layout drawingsUnderstanding of pneumatic systemsAdditional InformationOccasional overtime may be requiredWillingness to travel within the UK and internationally for site visits when neededMust hold a valid passportJBRP1_UKTJ
