Mechanical Design Engineer

White Label are now recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a expanding business with big ambitions. The company now seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support their design office based in Chorley, after securing some very large scale multi-national contracts.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you would be responsible for the design & development of new and/or existing products. This includes pressure vessels, pressure control systems and other equipment/systems that complement the products in line with client/industry requirements.

The company seeks a strong individual with experience in the following areas:

Key Skills:

* 2D & 3D CAD – Solidworks experience is ideal but Inventor also considered

* Ideally ability to carry out hand calculations (force, torque, bending moments, hoop stress, shear stress, weld strength etc.)

* Experienced in designing complex components and assemblies

* Risk Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) & Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)

* DfMA experience

* Administration & usage of Document Management Systems (EPDM)

* Strong communication skills

* BEng or BSc (Hons) in mechanical engineering or equivalent

The company is paying up to £55k depending on the individuals experience, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and flexible working hours.
