Role – Mechanical Design Engineer position
Location –Based close to Diss, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Rate of pay – £45,000 per annum
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Our client is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their busy drawings office, Applicants will need to have worked in a similar position previously and will be conversant with working with 2D/3D practises.
Main duties will include –
 Converting conceptual ideals into practical designs using Solidworks and AutoCAD design packages.
 Creating prototypes to test designs and gather feedback which helps refine the final product range.
 Managing costs during the design and production process
 Maintaining details records of design processes and specifications.
 Compiling bill of materials for the production process and to ensure that the correct materials are ordered in for the product range
Candidate attributes –
 Previous experience as a Design Engineer or a similar role
 Working experience using Solidworks and AutoCAD software;
 Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design
 Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers
 Excellent oral and written communication
 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
