Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services

The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of mechanical building services systems across a range of projects, including Hospitals, Universities, Prisons, Residential, and Education schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed mechanical designs including HVAC systems, heating and cooling, ventilation, domestic water services, and public health systems.
Carry out feasibility studies, technical calculations, and energy efficiency assessments in line with project requirements.
Work closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.
Produce technical drawings and specifications using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and regulations (e.g. BS, CIBSE, Building Regulations).
Attend project meetings, site visits, and inspections to track progress and resolve technical issues.
Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including tender packages, reports, and design submissions.Essential Qualifications and Skills:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in mechanical design for building services (minimum 2 years ).
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation tools.
Strong knowledge of building services standards, regulations, and industry best practice.
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
