Mechanical CAD Technician / Mid Weight Design Engineer

The Role:

As a key member of my clients engineering team, you will take ownership of mechanical design tasks from concept through to production, supporting the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions. You will work closely with engineers, project managers and clients to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring designs meet all necessary requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Produce accurate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings

Assist in developing mechanical designs from concept to completion

Modify and update existing designs based on project or client requirements

Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams

Perform basic engineering calculations and ensure designs meet specifications

Support prototype builds and testing as required

Maintain document control and design revision history

Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar Mechanical CAD or Design Engineering role

HVAC experience Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)

Strong understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and materials

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
