Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit to a Mechanical (Bias) Maintenance Technician to work day shift for our client in the South Tyneside area.

THE ROLE

You will work within the maintenance team to carry out planned preventative maintenance activities as scheduled
Working to fix cnc based production machinery
You will take part in projects including the introduction of new plant and equipment
You will react effectively to plant and equipment breakdowns minimising downtime where possible, assisting in metalwork fabrication if required
You will carry out a mixture of mechanical and some electrical repairs
You will liaise with offsite engineers and contractors when planning repairs
You will maintain a service and log of all repairs and service records
Maintain a safe and tidy working environment ensuring H&S regulations are followed THE PERSON

You will have experience of FMCG, manufacturing or production environment
Experienced working with hydraulic systems, gear boxes, motors, bearings, compressor systems, overhead cranes, sensors, valves, etc.
You must hold recognised engineering qualifications, City & Guilds or equivalent
Must be able to display an electrical skill set as part of multi skilling
It is advantageous to hold BS 7671 18th edition although not essential
You will be a flexible, self-motivated person who can troubleshoot, investigate, locate and repair faults
You can work with minimum supervision, independently and as part of a team. TO APPLY
