Looking to take a leading role in delivering innovative, low carbon building services solutions while advancing your career in a senior leadership position?\n\nA multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking to strengthen its mechanical engineering leadership team with the appointment of a Mechanical Associate Director. The consultancy delivers integrated, high quality design solutions across the built environment, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, technical excellence, and future ready buildings. \nWorking across sectors including residential, commercial, education, and industrial, the company partners with clients to deliver efficient, compliant, and environmentally responsible engineering solutions.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis consultancy are looking to appoint a Mechanical Associate Director to lead the delivery of mechanical building services across a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to the strategic growth of the business.\n\nThis is an opportunity to take on a senior leadership position within a collaborative and forward thinking engineering environment, where you will influence both project outcomes and the development of the mechanical discipline.\n\nThe successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary project teams, provide technical oversight and ensure the successful delivery of projects from concept design through to construction and completion.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLeading the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, public health, and associated infrastructure\nManaging and mentoring mechanical engineering teams, supporting professional development and performance\nTaking responsibility for the technical quality and compliance of all mechanical design outputs\nUndertaking and leading design reviews, resolving complex technical challenges\nOverseeing project delivery to ensure programmes, budgets, and quality standards are achieved\nActing as a key point of contact for clients, leading meetings, presentations, and workshops\nSupporting business development activities, including bid preparation, proposals, and opportunity identification\nManaging commercial aspects of projects, including expenditure, resourcing, and profitability\nEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and health & safety requirements \nEmbedding sustainability and low carbon design principles into all engineering solutions\nPromoting the use of BIM and digital design tools across project delivery\nContributing to the strategic development and continuous improvement of the mechanical engineering discipline\n\nWhat they're looking for:\n\nDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\nChartered Engineer status (or working towards at an advanced stage)\nSignificant experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy or contractor environment\nStrong technical expertise in HVAC, public health systems, and building services design\nProven experience in leading project delivery and managing engineering teams\nSound understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice\nCommercial awareness and experience managing project finances\nStrong communication and client facing skills\nCommitment to sustainable design and energy efficient engineering solutions\n\nWhat's In It For You:\n\nThey're offering a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package and flexible working arrangements.
