Job Description
This is a Client side opportunity for an M&E Project Manager working within a Client Side Construction Projects team for a significant Data Centre owner / operator. This is a live data centre and a busy role whereby you will be Project Managing various building services upgrades and retrofits on site \n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nCan hold others accountable.\n\nStake holder management.\n\nDrive efficiencies in the program.\n\nAble to deliver under pressure and look for opportunities.\n\nMEP background comfortable managing contractors, consultants.\n\nGood communication skills able to work with client side internal operations teams and get the best from them.\n\nStrong experience in data centres, live DC environments and maintaining SLA availability tier 3 requirements.\n\nStrong Admin skills understanding of audit trails and developing/working to process. Methodical and effective in decisions.\n\nAble to report up blockers issues next steps and recommendations and track weekly progress.\n\nSolution orientated able adapt and overcome issues and problems without compromising safety.\n\nClient representation and always have our best interests at the forefront.\n\nManage risk.\n\ntrace all things back to impact on cost & time and how we can better a situation.\n\nComfortable in ACC share point working on site and on drawings/plans.\n\nUnderstands the importance of temporary works and able to develop a plan to put this in place.\n\nAll works are within the BMS, Electrical or Mechanical (cooling) disciplines so both technical services experience and data centre live site experience are important.
The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other team and organisations\n\nThis role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and internal business units. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nProject management and oversight of build and retrofitting related activities as they relate to modifying existing infrastructure for the purpose of installing new or to replace end of life equipment.
This will include the ownership of the project scope, timeline, and budget. - Provide project management for specific initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of the data centres.\n\nConstruction/project package drawing review. - Creation of project scope, request for proposals, and capital requests.
- Total project quality including the creation of a commissioning plan and oversight of the execution. - Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management. - Operational support including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
