You will provide 1:1 support, run small-group interventions, reinforce classwork, support revision, and help pupils build confidence with key mathematical methods. You will also prepare concise resources, track pupil response, and share clear feedback with teachers. Teaching assistants commonly work with individual pupils and small groups, help prepare materials, and report progress back to staff.The Candidate: You hold a degree, communicate clearly, and can explain Maths in simple, manageable steps. You are organised, calm, and keen to build practical school experience before moving into teacher training or another education-based career.Requirements Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject. Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication. Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate. Roles involving regulated activity with children can require an Enhanced DBS check, with a Children’s Barred List check where applicable. Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing. Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, coaching or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
