Experienced Maths Teacher – Special School – Birmingham\nA welcoming and well-structured special school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Maths Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths Teacher who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and who enjoys teaching small classes in a calm, supportive environment.\n\nThis role is ideal for a Maths Teacher with strong subject knowledge who can adapt the curriculum to meet a range of learning needs. Students have a variety of special educational needs, including Autism, MLD, and additional learning differences.

Classes are small, and you will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, allowing you to focus on high-quality teaching and meaningful progress.\n\nAs a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop essential numeracy skills, and achieve outcomes that reflect their individual abilities.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nPlanning and delivering engaging Maths lessons tailored to students with special educational needs\nTeaching Maths at an appropriate level, including functional skills and entry-level or GCSE content where appropriate\nDifferentiating lessons to support a range of abilities and learning styles\nManaging behaviour positively and consistently in line with school expectations\nWorking closely with Teaching Assistants to provide targeted support\nTracking progress and adapting teaching strategies to support individual development\nContributing to a supportive and collaborative staff teamThe ideal candidate will have:\n\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS)\nExperience teaching Maths, ideally within a special school or SEND setting\nStrong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt Maths teaching creatively\nConfidence working with students with Autism, MLD, or additional needs\nExcellent classroom management and communication skills\nA patient, resilient, and child-centred approachIn return, you will receive:\n\nSmall class sizes with high levels of classroom support\nA supportive leadership team who value staff wellbeing\nA positive working environment where students are known and supported\nAccess to training and professional development opportunities\nCompetitive rates of pay based on experienceIf you are interested in this Maths Teacher opportunity, please “Apply Now” or contact The Education Network Birmingham.
