Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Brent seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher to build confidence, develop classroom skills, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and fast-paced environment. Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview As a Maths Graduate TA, you will play a key role in supporting students across KS3 and KS4, helping to raise attainment and confidence in mathematics. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting students in Maths lessons on a 1:1 and small group basis Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management Breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, engaging explanations Delivering targeted interventions for students who need additional support Stretching and challenging high-achieving students Supporting with lesson preparation and resource creation Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons Requirements A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (essential) A strong desire to pursue a career in teaching Excellent subject knowledge and confidence in Maths Strong communication and interpersonal skills A proactive, enthusiastic, and resilient approach Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) xehkeey What's on Offer A supportive and high-performing secondary school in Brent Full-time role: Monday to Friday, term-time only The ideal stepping stone into teacher training Ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development Opportunity to gain valuable school-based experience ahead of a PGCE or SCITT Potential for a long-term or permanent position How to Apply If you're a Maths graduate ready to take the first step into teaching from September 2026 in Brent, we would love to hear from you.
