We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths and English Lecturer to join a well-established college in East London on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to support and inspire learners in achieving their functional skills and GCSE qualifications in Maths and English. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching in Maths and English across a range of levels, including Functional Skills and GCSE Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements Support learners in developing core numeracy and literacy skills for academic and career progression Assess, mark, and provide constructive and timely feedback on student work Monitor and track learner progress, implementing interventions where necessary Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and progression Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives Support learners in progressing to further education, apprenticeships, or employment Requirements Relevant degree in Mathematics, English, or a related subject Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) Experience teaching Maths and/or English in a Further Education or similar setting Strong understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills curriculum Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing What We Offer Competitive salary package Full-time, stable position within a supportive college environment Opportunities for professional development and career progression The chance to make a meaningful impact on learners' futures How to Apply To apply, please submit your CV and a brief cover statement outlining your suitability for the role.
