The Role

The Material Supply Chain Lead is a newly created role responsible for coordinating the inbound, storage, and outbound flow of raw material between the Smurfit Westrock raw material Supplier and the Markham Vale North Distribution Centre (Markham Vale North) and ensuring the timely transport of raw material to Smurfit Westrock Markham Vale (Markham Vale Production) as required. This role will play a critical part in onboarding and embedding a new operating process, taking a hands-on and proactive approach to ensure a constant, e?icient and undisrupted supply of raw material to production. The Material Supply Chain Lead will act as the central point of coordination across Warehousing, Transport and Supply Chain activities, with a strong focus on safety, accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

? Log and report safety incidents, hazards and near misses, while actively challenging unsafe behaviours. Participate in the root cause analysis of safety incidents and hazards, and support the development, implementation, and follow up of corrective and preventative actions.

? Manage the e?icient unloading, storage and loading of raw material, ensuring product is stored and dispatched in full and in line with operational requirements.

? Manage a team to conduct quality checks on raw material deliveries received from Raw material Supplier, escalating any issues as required.

? Coordinate and oversee the booking of inbound and outbound raw material movements between the Raw material Supplier, Markham Vale North and Markham Vale Production.

? Work with the Supply Chain Manager to coordinate the flow of raw material to support production schedules, adjusting priorities as needed to meet operational demands.

? Use Warehouse Management Systems (EFI Vision) to manage inventory movements, data entry and tracking.

? Maintain inventory accuracy, including stock counts and reconciliation as required – in line with auditing regulations.

? Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including delivery dockets, manifests and system entries.

? Communicate clearly with the Raw material Supplier and internal stakeholders, including Markham Vale North teams, Supply Chain, transport providers and Markham Vale Production.

? Support the onboarding, stabilisation and continuous improvement of the new process, identifying opportunities to improve e?iciency, safety and reliability.

? Flexibility to undertake additional tasks or responsibilities as reasonably requested by management (Supply Chain and Markham Vale Production).

Skills & Experience

? Experience logging and reporting safety incidents, hazard, and near misses.

? Experience working in warehouses or distribution centres, including loading and unloading goods following safe working practices.

? Experience operating forklift trucks (FLTs).

? Must hold a Certificate of Competence to RTITB standards for an appropriate type of forklift truck (FLT). On the job internal training and assessment by selected a company representative will be provided.

? Strong administrative skills, including data entry, tracking and record keeping.

? Strong knowledge of inventory control and Warehouse Management Systems (EFI Vision experience is preferred).

? Experience conducting quality checks on goods received from suppliers.

? Good IT skills and confidence working with warehouse systems and Microsoft applications.

? Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

? Good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide direction and instructions to others.

? Calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment, with adherence to strict deadlines.
