Material Controller – Manufacturing

Location: Morley
Salary: £35,000
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM)

We are seeking an experienced Material Controller to join a fast-growing manufacturing business. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of material management in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and control material flow within the manufacturing facility.

*

Track stock levels and manage inventory for key commodities (e.g., aluminium, fabric, metalwork).

*

Place orders and manage suppliers using MRP (M1) systems.

*

Resolve stock discrepancies and ensure accurate record-keeping.

*

Liaise with suppliers to resolve supply chain issues and ensure timely deliveries.

*

Ensure that all materials meet production requirements.

*

Work closely with warehouse teams to maintain efficient stock levels.

*

Assist with the procurement of both regular and bespoke materials.

*

Maintain clear and accurate records of stock levels, orders, and deliveries.

*

Manage multiple material categories to ensure production targets are met.

Essential Skills & Experience:

*

3-5 years of experience in materials management or procurement within a manufacturing environment.

*

Strong experience with MRP systems (ideally M1 or similar).

*

Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve issues.

*

Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

*

Ability to manage stock discrepancies and act quickly to resolve issues.

*

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to material management.

*

Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

*

Experience in the manufacture of aluminium, fabric, or metalwork products.

*

Knowledge of inventory management and lean principles.

*

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
