Job Description

A permanent role is available in the marketing team of a busy and well-resected legal services company in Leeds. The Business Development Executive plays a key role in supporting the firm’s growth strategy by delivering proactive, high-quality business development initiatives. Working closely with senior stakeholders, practice teams, and the wider BD function, you will help strengthen client relationships, identify new opportunities, and enhance the firm’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Client Development & Relationship Support

  • Support the delivery of client engagement plans and relationship initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records
  • Assist with client feedback programmes and cross-team collaboration, including international activity

Marketing & Campaign Delivery

  • Contribute to marketing and BD campaigns that enhance brand visibility
  • Support the preparation of pitches, proposals, and credentials documents
  • Ensure consistency with brand guidelines across all materials

Market Research & Insight

  • Research market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
  • Monitor legislative and industry developments relevant to the firm’s services
  • Produce clear, actionable insight reports for internal stakeholders

Events & Networking

  • Coordinate client events, webinars, and conferences from planning through delivery
  • Manage post-event follow-up and evaluate return on investment

Data, Reporting & Analysis

  • Track business development activity and key performance metrics
  • Produce regular reports and analysis to support decision-making
  • Assist with competitor analysis and pipeline reporting


What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how BD supports wider business objectives
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with confidence handling data and reporting tools
  • Experience contributing to projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • A high standard of professionalism, with an understanding of risk, compliance, and quality
  • Confidence using specialist systems and tools to support day-to-day work

Desirable Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in business development or marketing within a professional services environment
  • Exposure to legal, technical, or advisory services is advantageous
  • Knowledge of the intellectual property sector is highly desirable but not essential
