We are always seeking tradespeople with a strong work ethic who are willing to support the best team in the business. Our team at bachelor's point in Oxford, MD is looking for a marine rigger.
Key Responsibilities:
Un-step and step masts. Assemble and disassemble spars. Tune standing rigging. Connect and troubleshoot mast lights and wiring. Install booms, sails, running rigging. Prepare sailboats to safely sail. Splice lines, service winches and furling systems-both manual and electrical/hydraulic. Service sailboat steering systems and deck hardware. Wax and clean spars. Inspect and estimate repairs. Must possess own tools. Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent . Sailing knowledge, familiarity with boats and nomenclature Hoisting/Crane Operator experience . Previous experience , willing to train. ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications . Basic boat handling skills . Experience with both gas and diesel engines . Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. on occasion with team assist or lifting tools. Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally kneel, stoop, bend and twist in tight areas. Comfortability with ladders and confined spaces is required. Ability to work in the elements regularly. All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the fluctuating business demands.
