We are currently seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Lecturer / Assessor to join a well-established FE College on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with apprentices and deliver high-quality, industry-relevant training in a supportive environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering and assessing the Level 2 Diploma in Marine Engineering (Foundation) (2473-12) to a cohort of apprentices, ensuring engaging delivery and strong learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and assess the following units:

*

Unit 201 – Introduction to the Marine Industry

*

Unit 203 – Business Improvement Techniques

*

Unit 208 – Marine Engineering Processes and Principles

*

Unit 209 – Servicing and Maintenance of Marine Engines and Ancillary Systems

*

Unit 210 – Servicing and Maintenance of Marine Propulsion Systems

*

Support and mentor apprentices throughout their programme

*

Monitor progress, provide feedback, and ensure timely achievement

*

Maintain accurate records in line with awarding body requirements

Requirements

*

Relevant Marine Engineering qualification (or equivalent industry experience)

*

Experience delivering or assessing within Further Education or apprenticeships

*

Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA/TAQA) desirable

*

Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and maintenance practices

*

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
