Contract | Inside IR35 ? 12 months (likely extension) ?? £48 per hourAn exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in bringing a new product into production within a purpose-built manufacturing facility.This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll be shaping how products are made - from early process design through to factory readiness, commissioning, and stable production. You'll sit at the centre of engineering, operations, quality and leadership, helping ensure new equipment, processes and layouts are introduced safely, efficiently, and right first time.What you'll be doingLeading manufacturing readiness activities for a new product introductionDesigning, developing and optimising CNC machining processes to drive quality and repeatabilityScoping and delivering capital equipment projects from business case through installation and handoverSupporting factory layout design, workflow optimisation and equipment placementAnalysing production capacity, constraints and flow to identify practical improvementsOwning PFMEAs and process controls in line with APQP principlesPresenting improvement proposals and investment cases to senior stakeholdersOverseeing contractor activities during installation and commissioning phasesMentoring and supporting other engineers within the teamWhat we're looking forStrong background in manufacturing or industrial engineeringProven experience in CNC machining and process developmentExperience with production readiness, APQP, PFMEA and capital equipment deliveryAbility to design tooling and concepts using CAD (Creo preferred)Confident working cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong communication skills - comfortable engaging engineers, operators and senior leadersStructured, organised and proactive with a problem-solving mindsetComfortable balancing safety, quality, delivery and cost objectivesWhy apply?Be part of a major new product introduction from the ground upWork in a state-of-the-art facility with modern manufacturing challengesReal influence over processes, layouts and investment decisionsCompetitive day rate on a long-term, stable contract??
