Manufacturing Engineer

Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Brighton. This role is integral to the introduction and support of a new product entering its prototype manufacturing phase, in preparation for subsequent qualification and validation activities.Key Responsibilities:Collaborating closely with Design Engineers, Quality Engineers, and other Operation functions on-siteInterpreting drawings and creating inspection processes for componentsDeveloping and implementing inspection record cards and associated manufacturing documentationProviding hands-on support to the manufacturing team during the assembly and build of prototype unitsIdentifying and resolving manufacturing and assembly issues encountered during the build processUpdating and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to incorporate lessons learned and process improvements identified during prototype buildsSupporting the transition of the product from prototype manufacture towards qualification and early production readinessOffering flexibility in supporting various functions as requiredJob Requirements:Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD is essentialExperience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is preferredStrong knowledge of manufacturing engineering within a mechanical assembly environmentHNC or higher in Mechanical or Manufacturing EngineeringExperience with CAD softwareProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPointExperience working with ERP systemsSkilled in designing tooling to aide assemblyGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experienceThis role offers a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to play a key part in the development and production readiness of an innovative product within the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors.
