What does the role look like?
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be the recognised point of contact for manufacturing-related improvements within your area. You will focus on developing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement, supporting operations, and enabling robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Lead and support continuous improvement activities using data and lean tools to improve safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Manage and implement process changes resulting from engineering design updates and engineering release notes (ERN/ECR).
Support product manufacturability through process development, tooling design (simple to moderate), validation and first article inspection.
Act as the manufacturing focal point for quality issues, supporting root cause analysis, scrap reduction and corrective actions.
Drive structured problem-solving activities and support risk reduction initiatives for identified products and processes.
Maintain manufacturing documentation, routings and configuration-controlled items.
Support audits, TPM documentation, risk assessments and ergonomic assessments where required.
Provide support for customer visits and contribute to the training and mentoring of operations staff and apprentices.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
Degree or apprenticeship trained in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Desirable skills:
Experience supporting quality investigations and root cause analysis activities.
Project management and organisational skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams
