Were looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support unit and missile assembly within a high-reliability defence manufacturing environment. This role suits engineers who enjoy being close to production , solving real shop-floor issues, and turning design intent into clear, repeatable build processes for skilled and semi-skilled operators. Youll work closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams, supporting multiple programmes across electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies. What youll be doing Creating and maintaining Manufacturing Build Instructions for live production Supporting electronic sub-assemblies (CCA) through to full system builds Designing, commissioning, and validating tooling and fixtures Supporting industrial validation activities (FMEA, FAI) Diagnosing and resolving manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor Updating route cards and manufacturing documentation following rework Managing configuration control and design changes Supporting Non-Conformance activities using SAP
This is a predominantly shop-floor-based role with ownership of manufacturing documentation. What were looking for Experience interpreting engineering drawings and translating them into clear build instructions Background in electro-mechanical or electronic assembly manufacturing Hands-on knowledge of small / miniature assemblies or actuation systems Comfortable working within structured processes and regulated environments Strong communicator, able to work across production, quality, and engineering
Qualifications (flexible pathways) Were open to engineers from apprenticeship, vocational, or degree routes, including: Electrical / Mechanical / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Level 3) ONC / Diploma / NVQ Level 3 combinations Engineering Degree
