Manufacturing Controller – Bolton
We are recruiting a Manufacturing Controller to join a busy, safety-critical manufacturing and stores environment based in Bolton. This role supports manufacturing operations through the effective control of materials, inventory, and work packages, ensuring production schedules and delivery commitments are met. The Manufacturing Controller will be responsible for managing stores and inventory activities, supporting manufacturing cells, and maintaining accurate system records within a high-paced operational setting. Key Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Controller will deliver a range of stores and manufacturing support activities, including: Issuing, receiving, and managing stores and inventory within a controlled environment. Maintaining effective stock control, including shelf-life management. Loading manufacturing cells with the required work packages in line with planned lead times and cycle times. Monitoring and controlling work packages to support manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules. Packing activities, including the use of hand tools. Receiving, issuing, and controlling tooling. Completing kitting activities to support production requirements. Loading and unloading of deliveries and collections. Accurately updating computer-based systems and records. Safety Responsibilities
Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others affected by your work. Maintain high standards of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) within stores and manufacturing areas. Follow all safety procedures, training requirements, and site instructions. Promptly report hazards, incidents, or near-misses, supporting a strong safety culture. Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience working within a stores, logistics, or manufacturing control environment. Ability to follow instructions accurately and work to defined processes. Willingness to work flexible shift patterns if required. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proactive, flexible, and able to use own initiative. Manual Handling training. Lifting & Slinging training (including use of overhead cranes). ESD training. Desirable
Good PC skills, including Microsoft Excel. Forklift Truck Licence. Knowledge of Kanban and 2-bin stock control systems. Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g. SAP). Additional Information
