Manual Machinist The Beard Engineering Co in the local area of Jacksdale, is a family run firm that was established in 1947. Situated 3 miles from Junction 27 of the M1, we specialise in large scale manual milling (up to 10m) and have just expanded our capacity to include CNC milling to run alongside our established manual milling services. We provide work to a wide range customer base and all of the work that we undertake requires precision and is fulfilled to a high standard. The position comes due to a consistent intake of healthy, long-standing contracts meaning a need for experienced precision engineers... see below for a detailed description of the roles package and specification of the machinist required. The Successful Machinist - Package: * £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (OTE - £47,000 per annum) * Permanent days shift (7am - 3:30pm, Mon - Thurs & 7am - 2:30pm, Fri) * Overtime available (paid at 1.5x, 11 hours available per week) * 33 days holiday (inc bank holidays & 1 fixed week) * Bonuses paid out Monthly AND Yearly * HEP (holiday enhancement pay) * Competitive salary sacrifice pension scheme * Pension advice provided * Death in service insurance * Health screening once a year * Onsite parking available * Cycle to work scheme available * All PPE provided (boots, gloves, glasses (prescription too), goggles, ear defenders and more) * All tooling provided from a rule to precision measuring equipment. * Overalls provided and washed * Drinks provided throughout the day at regular times * A good old Friday morning breakfast cob and a Christmas get together The Successful Machinist - Requirements: * Must be able to operate a 3 axis manual milling machine (experience with larger components is desirable) * Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering technical drawings * Must be able to carry out the following operations, including: Milling, Drilling, Boring, and Tapping * Must have the ability to inspect own components using various hand held measuring equipment including: DTI Gauges, Verniers, Micrometers, Slips, Depth Gauges * Overhead Crane Experience is an advantage If you're interested in finding out more or you believe yourself to be the right Applicant for the role, we can’t wait to hear from you!
