Role Overview: As a Managing Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the commercial performance of projects across various sectors. You will lead a team of surveyors, ensuring efficient cost management, effective risk mitigation, and successful project delivery within budget and timeline expectations. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage the surveying team, providing mentorship and guidance. * Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts. * Ensure accurate valuations, payment applications, and final account settlements. * Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management. * Manage contractual claims, variations, and dispute resolution. * Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and profitability. * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. * Drive continuous improvement and adherence to industry best practices. Qualifications and Experience: * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Surveyor in the construction sector. * Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC and JCT. * Exceptional leadership and communication skills. * Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). * Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB) is advantageous. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commercial mindset. * Proficiency in construction software and MS Office applications.
