Are you a commercially minded Management Accountant looking to play a key role in driving financial insight and supporting strategic decision‑making? As Management Accountant, you will sit at the heart of the finance function, providing robust analysis, insightful reporting and strong business partnering across the organisation. Reporting to the senior finance lead and working closely with the Financial Accountant, you will help strengthen financial performance, improve processes and support long‑term financial sustainability. You'll also have line management responsibility for two direct reports, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership capability.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-term financial plans.
Producing accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
Analysing financial performance, trends and variances, translating complex data into clear, actionable strategic insight for senior leaders and key stakeholders.
Monitoring spend against forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities and efficiency improvements.
Supporting managers with financial planning, accountability and informed decision‑making.
Delivering costing, project and service analysis to inform operational and strategic choices.
Contributing to business cases, investment appraisals and strategic initiatives.
Ensuring strong financial controls, compliance and reporting standards.
Collaborating across finance and the wider organisation to continuously improve systems and processes.
Providing cover and support within the finance team when required.

What you'll need to succeed:

CIMA qualified, part‑qualified, or actively working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
Strong management accounting experience in a similar environment, preferrable within the public sector.
Proven ability to produce and oversee accurate, timely management accounts.
Experience shaping or supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Confident communicator, able to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
A proactive, improvement‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
