The Role

We're looking for a practical, hands on Maintenance Technician to support the smooth running of a modern residential building. This role plays a key part in keeping apartments and shared spaces safe, well maintained, and looking their best, while delivering a great experience for residents.
You'll be responsible for a mix of reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance, working closely with on-site management and external contractors where required.
This is a full time role, primarily Monday to Friday, with flexibility to support occasional weekends or public holidays when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Facilities
Carry out day-to-day maintenance across apartments and communal areas

Respond promptly to maintenance issues and carry out basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating)

Support flat inspections, pre-move-in checks, and turnaround works

Assist with general upkeep including waste areas, external spaces, and common parts

Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks and issues

Health & Safety
Support routine health & safety checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, general safety inspections)

Identify hazards and take appropriate action in line with procedures

Ensure safe systems of work are followed, including permits and contractor compliance

Customer & Team Support
Communicate clearly and professionally with residents and colleagues

Work collaboratively with site teams and third-party contractors

Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and improving the resident experience

What We're Looking For

Essential
Previous experience in general maintenance / handyman work within residential or similar environments

Good working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building maintenance

Awareness of health & safety practices

Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Desirable
Formal trade qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)

Health & Safety certification (IOSH or similar)

Experience in large residential developments or Build-to-Rent environments

Basic IT skills for logging jobs and reporting issues
