Job Title: Maintenance Engineer\n\nLocation: North East England (multi-site, field-based)\n\nSalary: £36K DoE\n\nContract Type: Full-time, shift-based (including standby and call-out duties)\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance and operation across multiple different machines and systems.\n\nWorking on a shift roster, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of equipment and associated ICT infrastructure. The role combines hands-on engineering with remote diagnostics to ensure high system availability and performance.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDiagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to agreed performance standards\nRespond to incidents and service requests, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal disruption\nMonitor system performance and identify trends to improve reliability and efficiency\nSupport major incident response and contribute to root cause analysis\nCarry out installation, configuration, and testing of hardware and software systems\nMaintain accurate records, asset data, and technical documentation\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering developments\nEnsure compliance with health & safety, data security, and operational procedures\nProvide technical updates and liaise with control teams and stakeholders\nSupport ICT projects and system upgrades \n What We're Looking For\n\nExperience in maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of electronic or ICT-based systems\n18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018)\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently\nKnowledge of networking, hardware systems, or payment systems (desirable)\nAbility to work in a field-based role, often as a lone worker\nGood communication and documentation skills\nFlexibility to work shifts, standby, and emergency call-outs \n Additional Requirements\n\nFull UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)\nAbility to handle sensitive equipment and follow strict security procedures\nWillingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development \n What You'll Get\n\nCompetitive salary and shift allowances\nCompany vehicle for work use\nOngoing training and development opportunities\nOpportunity to work with critical infrastructure in a dynamic environment \n About You\n\nYou are a self-motivated engineer or technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
