We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a technical services team supporting a critical, business-essential environment in London. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical or multi-skilled technician who thrives in high-pressure, operationally critical settings.
You will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations. The role operates within a critical and technical services environment, where attention to detail, communication, and reliability are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Act as an Authorised Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding
Complete day-to-day reactive and planned maintenance tasks within required timeframes
Maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding works using internal systems
Ensure all staff and contractors comply with safety, security, and site procedures
Participate in critical services and technical training programmes
Communicate effectively with clients, management, and wider engineering teams
Support team members by sharing technical expertise and covering holidays, sickness, and training
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on critical systems and provide condition assessments
Identify, log, and report incidents or out-of-line situations
Follow defined procedures to resolve technical issues under guidance
Deliver work in line with established processes and performance standards
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Strong technical and fault-finding skills
City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering (or HNC equivalent)
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office knowledge
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Experience with procedure writing
Desirable:
Completed electrical or mechanical apprenticeship (or equivalent)
Report writing experience
Technical Knowledge
Essential:
Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services
Ability to operate and interrogate BMS systems
Knowledge of business-critical systems such as UPS, generators, and comms rooms
Desirable:
18th Edition IEE Regulations
HV training
