The role: Shift Engineer Under the direction of the Chief Engineer and within ROSLs policies and procedures, your primary duties will be: Coordinate the repairs of electrical, plumbing, ventilation and other building systems, fabrics and grounds, reported or communicated to the maintenance department. Assist with developing and implementing effective maintenance procedures to continuously improve quality and performance. Perform regular, daily inspections of the club premises, paying particular attention to the plant rooms, public areas, and kitchens. Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure good value is always provided. Be aware of maintenance budget constraints. Carry out reactive maintenance tasks in the club bedrooms, public spaces and plant rooms. Maintain high standards of communication with all the stakeholders. Maintain digital records of all maintenance activities, including job sheets, reports, O&M manuals and drawings. Assist with preparing and carrying out emergency procedures in case of flooding, power supply faults, or loss of heating and ventilation. Maintain stock of essential materials, spares and tools. Responsible for the tidiness and organization of the maintenance office and the workshop, including the safe storage of tools, COSHH materials, ladders, and PPE items.
Skills/Experience required Holds an Electrical installation Level 2 qualification. Previous experience dealing with repairs in emergency situations, including drainage blockages, leaks, and problems with heating systems. Previous hands-on experience using building maintenance equipment, including power tools. An overall understanding of power supply principles, i.e. how the power is distributed in the buildings and safety aspects. Experience in Planning Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Ability to use Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel. Ability to multi-task, flexible and adaptable. Good attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills. Works well under pressure.
