The Role: Maintenance Manager
They're looking for a hands-on, ambitious Maintenance Manager to take ownership of daily maintenance across the factory. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you'll manage three teams of engineers and lead all maintenance activity across machinery, infrastructure, and facilities. You'll be expected to deliver both day-to-day reliability and long-term strategic planning, while ensuring a positive team culture and high performance.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of factory maintenance and engineering support.
Lead 3 teams of 3 engineers (each with a Lead Engineer) across shifts and disciplines.
Report directly to the Engineering Manager, supporting wider strategic objectives.
Plan and implement preventative maintenance (PPM) and manage reactive repairs.
Maintain maximum uptime on factory machinery, including:
Grinding machines
Formax machines
Freezing systems
Compressors and supporting factory infrastructure
Organise and supervise external contractors for specialist or large-scale works.
Drive continuous improvement and contribute to long-term asset care strategy.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with production, operations, and site leadership to align maintenance with wider site priorities.
What They're Looking For
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (essential).
Significant experience in maintenance management within food manufacturing, FMCG, or similar industries.
Multi-skilled background with both mechanical and electrical competency .
Excellent working knowledge of factory machinery, utilities, and systems.
Strong leadership skills - approachable, professional, and leads by example.
High level of organisation, planning, and strategic thinking.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels and build strong team culture.
Willingness to be available on weekends if/when required.
Package & Benefits
Base Salary: £58,000
21 days annual leave, rising to 27 days with length of service
Private healthcare (3% employer contribution, rising to 5% if matched)

Death in service (DIS) benefit - 4x salary
