Job Title: Maintenance Manager (Hands-On)\nLocation: East London – Multi-Site\nSalary: £50,000 per annum\nJob Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are looking for a highly practical and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations across several sites in East London. This is not a desk-based management role — you will be expected to lead from the front, actively carrying out maintenance tasks while coordinating works across multiple locations.\n\nThe successful candidate will ensure that all properties are maintained to a high standard, respond quickly to issues, and manage planned and reactive maintenance. This role suits someone who enjoys problem solving, working with tools, and taking ownership of site standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Manage maintenance across multiple sites in East London\n\n * \n\n Carry out hands-on repairs and maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs\n\n * \n\n Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently\n\n * \n\n Coordinate and supervise external contractors when required\n\n * \n\n Implement and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules\n\n * \n\n Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports\n\n * \n\n Conduct regular site inspections to ensure properties remain in excellent condition\n\n * \n\n Respond to urgent maintenance issues across sites when needed\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Proven experience in a maintenance manager, facilities manager, or senior maintenance role\n\n * \n\n Strong multi-trade practical skills (plumbing, carpentry, basic electrics, general repairs)\n\n * \n\n Experience managing maintenance across multiple properties or sites\n\n * \n\n Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently\n\n * \n\n Good organisational and communication skills\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence (essential)\n\n * \n\n Comfortable being both hands-on and responsible for oversight of works\n\nDesirable\n\n * \n\n Experience within property management, hospitality, student accommodation, or residential portfolios\n\n * \n\n Health & Safety or Facilities Management qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, etc.)\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary of £50,000 per year\n\n * \n\n Varied role across multiple sites\n\n * \n\n Autonomy and responsibility within a growing property portfolio\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to shape maintenance standards and systems\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are a practical, solutions-focused Maintenance Manager who enjoys being on the tools while managing multiple sites, we would love to hear from you.\n\nPlease submit your CV and a short cover note outlining your relevant experience
