The Opportunity
This isn’t your typical maintenance role.
You’ll be working in a true engineering environment, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy workshop machinery — not stuck on repetitive automated production lines.
If you enjoy getting stuck into machinery, solving real mechanical problems, and working on varied equipment, this role will give you exactly that.
You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running, with a mix of reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance, giving you variety and responsibility day-to-day.
What You’ll Be Doing
Maintaining and repairing heavy mechanical equipment Working on machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and presses Fault finding on gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and drive systems Supporting hydraulics and pneumatic systems Carrying out PPMs and responding to breakdowns Completing basic electrical fault finding where required Supporting small improvement projects across the workshop
What We’re Looking For
A hands-on engineer who enjoys real mechanical work Someone who thrives in a workshop or heavy engineering environment Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail A reliable team player who can also work independently Apprentice trained or time-served (preferred)
Why This Role Stands Out
✔️ No shifts – enjoy a better work-life balance ✔️ Early Friday finish – start your weekend early ✔️ Proper mechanical work – not just swapping parts on a line ✔️ Variety – no two days the same ✔️ Stable business – long-term opportunity
