Maintenance Engineer

A well-established food manufacturing business is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment where reliability, continuous improvement and safety are key priorities.

You will play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving production machinery, supporting breakdown response, planned maintenance and new equipment installation.

The Role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will support the maintenance and performance of industrial production equipment across mechanical and electrical systems. The role involves reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, equipment installation and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to ensure machinery remains operational and reliable.

Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, identifying faults and implementing effective repairs.

*

Assist with the installation, commissioning and testing of new machinery and equipment upgrades.

*

Apply structured fault-finding techniques to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.

*

Support the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programmes.

*

Analyse equipment performance and breakdown trends to help reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

*

Maintain and update maintenance documentation and procedures.

*

Ensure spare parts inventory is managed effectively to support maintenance activities.

*

Work collaboratively with production and technical teams to improve equipment reliability and process performance.

*

Support continuous improvement initiatives across machinery, systems and processes.

*

Ensure full compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards.

*

Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within engineering areas.

What We’re Looking For

*

Multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.

*

Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment (food manufacturing highly desirable).

*

Strong fault finding and problem solving skills.

*

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

*

A proactive approach to improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.
