Job Description
Our client is looking for a multi-skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join their Maintenance team. This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, responsible for ensuring machinery, infrastructure and facilities operate safely, efficiently and reliably.\n\nThe successful candidate will be a hardworking, honest and flexible individual who takes pride in maintaining high engineering, health and safety, and housekeeping standards. This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a shift pattern\n\nThe Role\n\n * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and facilities\n\n * Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, ensuring equipment is left in a safe condition\n\n * Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in a logical and systematic manner\n\n * Support continuous improvement, reliability and efficiency projects to reduce downtime\n\n * Maintain full compliance with health & safety legislation and safe systems of work\n\n * Promote excellent engineering practices and act as a role model for safety and housekeeping standards\n\n * Conduct effective shift handovers, covering operational, safety and quality issues\n\n * General workshop housekeeping and equipment care\n\n * Support manufacturing output by undertaking additional tasks as required by management\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\n * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering\n\n * Multi-skilled maintenance experience (electrical bias )\n\n * Experience of safe systems of work (permit to work, risk assessments, method statements)\n\n * Previous experience in a manufacturing, FMCG or printing environment\n\n * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills\n\n * Excellent communication skills\n\n * Ability to work independently and as part of a team\n\n * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office\n\n * Flexible approach to meet manufacturing and shift requirements\n\nAdditional (Desirable)\n\n * Full UK Driving Licence\n\n * Emergency First Aid at Work\n\n * FLT licence (counterbalance & reach)\n\n * IPAF / working at heights qualification\n\nHealth & Safety\n\nIn addition to core responsibilities, employees are required to:\n\n * Take responsibility for their own health and safety and that of others\n\n * Carry out any other reasonable duties required across the manufacturing area
