ELECTRICAL BIAS ENGINEER

£OPEN (Depending On Experience) + Fleet Vehicle + £75 call out rate + Retainer for being on call
HOURS OF WORK: MONDAY - FRIDAY 8am - 5pm
My client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality polythene film products providing their clients with a range of shrink & none shrink, polythene film, sheeting, dolav liners, furniture, pallet wrap and mattress covers. With decades of experience, they pride themselves on innovative approach, commitment to sustainability, and customer-centric service. Their team is dedicated to delivering bespoke solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients across various industries.
They are seeking a skilled Electrical Bias Engineer to support their busy manufacturing operation, working across a range of extrusion and conversion machinery. This is a hands-on role ideal for an experienced individual from the polythene, flexible packaging, or wider manufacturing sector with a strong electrical background and a proactive, solutions-driven attitude.
Role / Responsibilities:
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all electrical and mechanical systems and machinery
Troubleshoot faults, diagnose electrical issues, and implement effective repairs to reduce downtime
Work closely with production teams to ensure continuous operation of machinery
Assist in the installation, commissioning, and improvement of new and existing equipment
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of PLCs, drives, control systems, and fault finding
Good mechanical awareness to support multi-skilled responsibilities
Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, can-do approach
Willingness to take part in on-call support as required (spilt between 3 Engineers)
