The Opportunity

CV Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing operation in Leicestershire for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their days-based maintenance team. This is a permanent, days-only position offering a strong salary and a stable, supportive working environment.

The business places a strong emphasis on equipment reliability, electrical safety and continuous improvement. Whilst a background in heavy manufacturing is an advantage, it is not a requirement - candidates with solid electrical competence and the right attitude are equally encouraged to apply.

The Role

Plan and carry out preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems to maximise equipment reliability and uptime
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, minimising production downtime
Service and maintain motors, drives, PLCs, control panels, sensors and associated electrical equipment
Support condition monitoring activities including thermography, insulation resistance testing and vibration analysis
Assist with electrical installation, testing and inspection in line with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
Contribute to continuous improvement projects targeting system reliability, downtime reduction and production efficiency
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within the site CMMS
Work closely with production, engineering and shift maintenance colleagues to deliver improvements
Provide cover for the shift team during holidays and absence periods
Work safely in line with all site procedures including LOTOTO, PPE and H&S standards

What We're Looking For

Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering - essential
NVQ Level 3 minimum, plus 18th Edition (IET Wiring Regulations) - essential
Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills across industrial systems
Hands-on experience with motors, drives, PLCs, control panels and industrial electrical equipment
Sound understanding of PPM/TPM systems and CMMS platforms
Good awareness of electrical and site safety procedures including LOTO, PPE and H&S
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Experience of predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis or insulation testing - desirable
Involvement in CI, reliability or equipment modification projects - preferable
Heavy manufacturing background - desirable but not required
