Job Description
Maintenance Electrician\n£45,000\nMilton Keynes\nPermanent, Full‑Time (40 hours, Monday–Friday)\n\nRole Purpose\nA maintenance electrician is required to support a portfolio of retail properties, ensuring that electrical systems and general building elements remain safe, functional, and compliant. The position involves travelling between multiple sites and delivering a mix of planned work, reactive repairs, and routine checks.\n\nRole Overview for Maintenance Electrician\nThe role covers day‑to‑day electrical maintenance, testing, and repair tasks across various retail locations. Alongside core electrical duties, the position includes basic multi‑trade work to help maintain the overall condition of each site.
The successful candidate will work independently, manage their own schedule, and respond to issues that arise across the region.\n\nKey Responsibilities for Maintenance Electrician\n• Carry out electrical maintenance and repair tasks, including diagnostics, emergency lighting checks, consumer unit inspections, PAT testing, and replacement or repair of circuits, sockets, and switches.\n• Complete planned maintenance activities to keep stores operating safely and efficiently.\n• Respond to urgent issues and call‑outs, resolving faults quickly to minimise disruption to trading.\n• Undertake general building upkeep such as minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and small fabric repairs.\n• Ensure all work complies with current safety legislation, industry standards, and internal procedures.\n• Keep accurate records of inspections, testing, and maintenance activities.\n• Work closely with store teams, colleagues, and external contractors to resolve more complex issues.\n• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle while travelling between sites.\n\nEssential Skills & Qualifications\n• Strong background in commercial electrical maintenance, ideally within a mobile or multi‑site role.\n• Confident in fault finding, testing, and carrying out a wide range of electrical repairs.\n• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and 18th Edition certification.\n• Experience delivering basic building maintenance across multiple trades.\n• Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check if required.\n• Full UK driving licence.\n\nIf you are interested in this role, have questions or wish to apply, then please send us a copy of your CV. \nRob Utilise Recruitment
