Machine Tool Field Service Engineer – Electrical Bias\n\nLocation: Field-based – 2 hour travel rule from the North West/Midlands corridor.\n Type: Full-time, Permanent\n Salary: £45,000–£55,000 DOE + door-to-door\n What’s on Offer : Private medical insurance, Company van, Flexible working hours, Company credit card \n\nThe Role\n\nDue to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Field Service Engineer to join our team. You’ll be working on a wide range of high-speed metal cutting machine tools (CNC and conventional), supporting customers with fault finding, servicing, repairs, and installations.\n\nThis is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical expertise, alongside solid mechanical understanding and the ability to work independently in the field.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nFault finding, servicing, repair, and installation of CNC machine tools\nWorking on 3, 4, and 5-axis high-speed machining centres (Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Millers, VTL’s, Borers, Gantry Machines, Mill-turns and all associated equipment).\nDiagnosing issues across electrical, electronic, and control systems\nSupporting customers on-site with technical issues and breakdowns\nCarrying out machine geometry checks and adjustments\nWorking with ancillary automated equipment (non-fabrication machinery)\nSkills & Experience Required\n\nMinimum 10 years’ engineering experience\nFully qualified Electrician\nStrong experience with CNC & PLC control systems\nConfident working with Siemens, Fanuc, or Heidenhain controls (amongst others)\nAbility to navigate HMIs, adjust parameters, and manage data backups\nKnowledge of G & M code programming - “Knowledge of machine production programmes for diagnostic purposes (G codes, M codes etc)”\nUnderstanding of machine parameters (e.g. backlash, grid shift, contour monitoring etc)\nExperience with: \n\nServo drives and motors (AC/DC, analogue & digital)\nEncoders, resolvers, and positional feedback systems\nLadder logic and PLC fault finding\nAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics\nMechanical Knowledge (Desirable but Important)\nPower transmission systems (gearboxes, spindles)\nHydraulics and pneumatics\nMachine alignment and geometry (axis, turret, headstock)\nMachining principles (speeds, feeds, tooling, surface finish)\nIf you’re a highly skilled field engineer looking to join a growing business where your expertise will be valued, get in touch with Chloe Hannah on (phone number removed) to find out more or apply today.\n\n"SER-IN
