Machine Operator - Steel Fabrication Workshop

Location: Forfar

Shift: 8am-5pm

Salary: £14.41-15.05

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a busy steel fabrication workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on machine operating experience - especially those who have worked with plasma cutters, tube lasers, press brakes, or bending machines.

What We're Looking For:

We're after someone who has set up and operated machinery in a steel fabrication environment. Experience with plasma, tube laser, press brake, and bending equipment is ideal.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret and follow work orders and technical drawings

Set up and operate machines per task requirements

Monitor machines during operation, making necessary adjustments

Inspect and measure finished products to meet specifications

Perform routine maintenance and report any faults or defects

Maintain a clean, safe working environment

Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE

Training provided for testing and adjusting machine speeds using gauges and tools Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Prior experience operating fabrication machinery in a workshop setting

Strong understanding of work order instructions and technical drawings
