Manchester / Preston We re looking for an LDT (long distance transporter) driver to join the Co-op Funeralcare team. Why this role matters As an LDT driver, you ll take responsibility for the collection of and transfer of the deceased coming into our care. You ll collect from either; hospital, mortuaries, airports, or Funeralcare homes, ensuring accuracy and managing the paperwork trail (electronically in most cases). You ll be working in a role requiring high levels of care and attention, customer service and autonomy, where no two days will be the same. What you ll do Undertake driving duties anywhere in the UK, within the EU drive time directive Maintain your vehicle to the highest of standards, as well as representing the Co-op in a professional and dignified manner Transport the deceased, by way of coffin or stretcher, as required, with care into and out of your vehicle Apply the highest attention to detail on ensuring accuracy, checking and logging identification documentation as required - in line with processes Ensure stocks of PPE are replenished Communicate clearly with your wider team and coordinator, logging any issues clearly and timely What you ll bring We re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria.
