A well established client for Chase & Holland are recruiting an exceptional and broad role based in Hull for a Transport and Logistics Planner. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone who has experience of working within a shipping and wholesaling environment, for example with a Shipping Agent or Shipping Chandler business. Prior working knowledge of this kind of operation would be extremely preferential, but not essential.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Transport Planning & Coordination
Plan, schedule, and allocate vehicles and drivers to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements. Optimise routes to maximise efficiency and minimise fuel usage and operating costs. Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless transport operations. Monitor live operations and respond to changes or issues in real time.  Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all transport operations comply with DVSA regulations and O-Licence undertakings. Monitor drivers’ hours and working time in line with EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive. Oversee vehicle inspections, defect reporting, maintenance scheduling, and MOT compliance. Maintain accurate records of driver CPC training, tachograph data, and vehicle compliance checks.
