Witan Solicitors is a specialist litigation firm based in Birmingham. We handle complex, high-value disputes across civil litigation, commercial law, insolvency, employment and family law often in the High Court. We’re a small, focused team, so everyone is hands-on and close to the work.The RoleWe’re recruiting a Litigation Solicitor (NQ - 4PQE) to join our litigation team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys progressing cases, drafting, problem-solving and taking responsibility early.This role is not suited to someone looking for extensive hand-holding. You’ll be expected to pick things up quickly, use initiative, and add value fast.Key ResponsibilitiesRun civil litigation matters (with supervision appropriate to experience)Draft strong correspondence, advice notes and research memorandaPrepare and manage court applications and procedural steps under CPRDraft pleadings when required (Particulars of Claim / Defence)Identify and execute billing points consistently (WIP → bills → cash discipline)Attend client meetings, take instructions and provide clear updatesContribute to improving precedents, templates and litigation systemsRequirementsWe cannot offer a “learning from zero” environment.
