Licensing Enforcement Officer North London 3 to 6 month ongoing contract £29.91 per hour umbrella

We are currently seeking a skilled and assertive Licensing Enforcement Officer to join our regulatory services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring business compliance with a wide range of licensing legislation and protecting the wellbeing of the public.

Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Licensing Act 2003, Health Act 2006, Gambling Act 2005, London Local Authorities Act 1991, and the Highways Act 1980. Act as an authorised officer, planning and conducting inspections, enforcement visits, investigations, and projects to ensure legal compliance across licensed premises (e.g., alcohol, gambling, massage, and special treatments). Investigate and respond to complaints regarding licensed and unlicensed premises and activities, working in partnership with external agencies including the Police, Fire Brigade, and other enforcement bodies. Take proportionate and effective enforcement action in line with Council policy – including gathering evidence, preparing prosecution cases, and presenting evidence in court under relevant legislation (PACE 1984, CPIA 1996, RIPA 2000).
